What's wrong with this picture?

Xiaxue's the face of blogging in the 2005 Singapore writers' conference.

Was thinking about the implications of that and I guess that we really do seem to be quite an infantile blogging culture if our representative is XX. Problem with this on my part?

Let's see:

Has anyone actually READ her writing?

Take away the glitz and the glamour (and the near-panty shot) from her Blog and one realises that it's a blog that lacks substance. (That and grammar, punctuation etc.) Why, pray tell, is she the face of writing in Singapore?! Hello?! It's a writers' festival!

Talk about appealing to your lowest common denominator.

She's terribly bimbotic and such, that's all I have to say.

Well, her blog is popular and she is popular with the media, so why not? Maybe she's not the best of bloggers, but she's certainly successful and she's not concerned about keeping her identity private.

I couldn't agree more. I do not see what makes her blog so good to deserve such a fame.

She just sounds like a 21 whom hasn't finish growing-up. Disgusts me, totally. Why is she represeting us as the face of writing(blog) in Singapore?

Uhm...point of contention: This is a writers conference. She's not a writer. She's a blogger. While the two are usually not mutually exclusive, this time, it is.

after all, just because everyone likes you doesn't mean you're good.. *grumble*
