I was intensely annoyed by OSF's review of the movie in the Straits Times. It is not that she slammed it - just the utter lack of coherent and logical thought processes and justification for why she would give it two stars.
Her rationale seemed to be that it was too faithful adaptation and the graphic novel is much better (as a medium?) therefore it is a lousy movie, which doesn't quite make sense. If she had at least attempted to argue that despite it trying to be a faithful adaptation, the inherent narrative complexity of the graphic novel translates poorly to the screen, then at least I can understand.
This is a woman who gave Troy five stars. And rated the first two Harry Potter's higher than the first two Lord of the Rings movies. Enough said.
